For the 2012 model year, Chevrolet is giving its award-winning Silverado pickup a peppering of Texas attitude. That's right. At the end of last month, Chevrolet announced the inauguration of its first-ever Silverado HD Texas Edition.

The Texas Edition is essentially spurred by drivers' love for the 2500HD and 3500HD and their desire for true country flair. Speaking on the all-new Chevy Silverado Texas Edition, Dave Nottoli, Regional Director, Sales & Marketing, Chevrolet said, "We think the Silverado HD and Texas are a winning combination. We started with the Chevrolet Silverado HD, which was 2011 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, and gave it some Texas attitude, with enhanced exterior style and more interior amenities."1

Changes to the Chevy Silverado 2500HD Texas Edition start with an exclusive Texas badge, in which a filled-in silver star replaces the letter "x".  In addition, it gains 20-inch polished forged aluminum wheels, a trailering package and automatic-locking differential, dual-zone auto climate control, six-way power driver assist, CD player, USB port, steering-wheel mounted controls, Bluetooth, power mirrors with turn signals, fog lamps, EZ-lift tailgate, chrome door handles, body side molding accents, and six-inch oval assist steps. Phew! That's a lot!

Perhaps even more compelling, though, is the accompanying five-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty, roadside assistance, and complementary transportation program...It is literally the best coverage you'll find on a full-size pickup.

The Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD offers features similar to the 2500HD variant. The main difference has to do with the wheels. Specifically, the 3500HD Texas Edition comes with 18-inch wheels on rear-wheel-drive models only...17-inch wheels, on Duallys.
